The Google play app has rolled out a built-in support feature for token-given digital assets, such as non-fungible tokens, within their app store. In a major effort to change policy, this tech company is now allowing developers to offer games and apps that facilitate users in buying, selling, or acquiring token assets. Google's change in attitude towards NFTs was positively welcomed by investors, artists, and other related parties in the industry.

In a recent blog post, Google announced that the decision to update its tokenized digital asset policy was taken to provide support to developers who want to present creative and immersive experiences to users through apps. Google Play App policies have been updated so that blockchain-based asset transactions can be carried out in apps and games. This step is expected to increase user loyalty through NFT rewards as well as bring unique user-owned content into the overhauled traditional game.

Interestingly, social platform Reddit and game developer Mythical Games have provided assistance to Google in changing its NFT policy with the aim of providing transparent and responsible engagement in digital content that uses blockchain technology. The two companies are working together to develop clear guidelines to promote the secure use of blockchain technology. Joseph Mills, a product manager at Google Play, revealed that developers who want to include tokenized digital assets such as NFTs in their apps and games will be required to clearly state the use of blockchain elements. In addition, the Google Play App will not allow apps and games that use NFTs to engage in trading or gambling activities.
